Bancha aamake !” it means, “Raju, my cloth has catched fire ! …. I am getting burnt ! Save me !”
Hearing this I soon put a rag over the fire to make my way. I jumped crossing the fire and rushed towards guava tree. My mother’s saree was burning and fire reached around her waist. It was a Do or Die situation. I could not think anything else than that. I pulled her saree from other end and pulled it with a jerk out of her waist. Fire is such a speedy transmitter.
